Hello again!
How is everyone doing with their daily thankfulness prayers? Hopefully it was easy to think of something God-given for which you are thankful!
Today I want to talk about another way to show we are thankful: Rejoicing! Particularly rejoicing in HOPE. That is not an easy thing to do. While hope has a positive feeling, there is nothing concrete about it. It is so much easier to be thankful for something we can hold in our hands or see with our eyes. Being thankful for something that might happen in the future is difficult to wrap our heads around. How we supposed to be thankful for something that hasn’t happened yet?
So I offer this instead: be thankful for the hope itself.
Hope is so important to us as Christians that it is put on the same level as faith and love. Because, like faith and love, hope comes from God! Hope allows the belief in a brighter tomorrow when today has been too much; hope allows for the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. So be thankful for the hope because there are too many things that threaten to take our hope away from us. We let in worry, pain, fear, and loss but all the while hope is there to give us strength, all we have to do is accept it! And thank God for it!
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” – Romans 12:12
With all the love in the world,
Katie
